Perhaps it’s time to go look and see what has happened to your windows over the winter.
And if, like many many Londoners you have old style timber windows, they are worth looking after.
That old timber is WELL worth looking after. I can’t say that clearly enough.
THOSE ORIGINAL SASH WINDOWS MADE FROM PROPERLY SEASONED AND TREATED OLD WOOD IS WELL WORTH LOOKING AFTER.
Take care of that irreplaceable stuff.
YES, irreplaceable. Most of the wood today is not the same quality.
If you are thinking of replacing, take care because the windows can appear to be in far worst condition than they actually are.
So don’t readily accept advice from someone who wants to rip it out and replace it.
It’s like this:
If you ask a carpenter he will want to replace it, because that is the work he does.
